The Langkawi Divesites

A short boat ride takes you from our divecenter on Cenang beach to the beautiful 99 small islands of Langkawi. (not Payar)

Our divesites: The Stables, Tanjung Intan, Razorreef, Cepu, Beras Laut, White Coral Corner. Read more about these sites...

These divesites are only 10-20min away from Cenang and Langkawi Scuba is the divecenter that found these sites in 2014. Read more about how we discovered these sites..

They are great places to see beautiful colorful soft-corals, anemones with clownfish, lionfish, razorfish and frogfish. A school of barracudas is hanging out and we have spotted colorful nudibranches, whipcoralshrimps, pipefish and very often we see seahorses. See photos

The Visibility

Let’s face it, Langkawi is not known for crystal clear water. Visibility is usually only 2-4m, however, we love diving here! Because the soft-corals and fish are very colorful there is plenty to see. And there are days that we are lucky and do get 5m+ visibility.

Because we would like to be able to show you all the amazing creatures, we dive with only 2 divers per PADI instructor, so in stead of worrying about losing your buddy, just worry about enjoying yourself.

(Check out our PADI Limited Visibility Diver Specialty Course to learn more about this kind of diving)

Safety

With limited visibility in Langkawi we don't want you to be worried about losing your buddy. And because we would like to be able to show you all the amazing creatures, we dive with only 2 divers per PADI instructor. Of course we give comprehensive safetybriefings and we use buddy-lines.

Emergency oxygen and a first aid kit are always on our boat. And of course we will bring spare equipment, just in case.

Covid-19:

We sanitize masks and regulators properly after each use.

If applicable, please inform yourself of the risk of diving after Covid19 and have your physician clear you for scuba diving before your dive-trip. Download medical statement here...

Environment

You take care of that you love, and we love Langkawi beaches and the reefs around them. So, we reduce and re-use, do beachclean-ups and splash for trash dives, and we will watch your hands and fins while diving so that the coral doesn't get damaged. Read more about our efforts here...

Our Season

From October till May the water around Langkawi is flat, this is the diveseason. From June to September the west-monsoon sometimes makes the waves too big for us to go diving, it also rains often and the water will be brown and it is not safe or fun to go diving. At that time we will be closed.

PADI Open Water Diver Course

Get your PADI open water certification and be able to go diving all over the world.

At Langkawi Scuba you will get a professional & passionate PADI instructor to teach you in a fun way to be safe under water. All our staff are certified instructors or higher, who have been trained extensively to teach you according to all the PADI safety-standards.

On the dives there will only be maximum 2 students per instructor to make sure that you get all the attention you need and that you will be able to see all the cool creatures under water.

  • Swimtest:

To be a certified diver you need to show us you can float/tread water for 10min and swim 200m.

  • Theory:

To be able to pass a multiple-choice exam, you will learn all about dive-theory and safety from a (e-)manual, video and your instructor. Our “classroom” is right on the beach.

  • Confined water training:

You will get to know your equipment and learn a lot of diving skills in shallow water.

  • The dives:

In deeper water, on actual divesites, you will perfect your diving skills on 4 dives while looking at the fish and corals.
