PADI Continuing Education

What to expect from diving in Langkawi:

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course

Prices season 2022-2023

To get this PADI certification, you will need to complete 5 adventure dives (in 2 or 3 days). You will receive a digital manual before starting your course and are expected to read from the manual and answer knowledge reviews before the course.

With visibility and depth being limited in Langkawi, it is a challenge to complete this course but definitely interesting. We recommend that you have at least a few dives after your Open water certification and are comfortable with the skills from that course, before starting this course.

  • Deep dive, For this dive it is recommended that you dive deeper than 22m, we can’t get to that depth at our reefs. To solve this, we dive away from the islands, in the “blue”. There is hardly any marinelife there, so during this dive we focus on our skills and play some games.

  • Navigation dive, with limited visibility here in Langkawi, it is even more important to learn to navigate and we will teach you little tricks we use when guiding our dives.

  • Limited Visibility Dive, learn more about safety and techniques of the type of diving around Langkawi.

  • Buoyancy dive, with limited visibility you will need to be very close to the corals, and your buoyancy skills will be very important. We practice this with some fun challenges.

  • Fish ID dive, A fun challenge to start with learning about marinelife and how to recognize them. (optional camerarental extra RM50)

(no nightdives or wreckdives available in Langkawi)

PADI Limited Visibility Diver

Specialty Course

Diving in clear water is great, seeing as far as 30-40m, looking at the big pelagic animals swimming by. But did you know that there are places with incredible marine life (like Langkawi!) that do not have that amazing visibility?

There are incredible creatures and beautiful reefs living in waters where you can see just a few meters in front of you. You might think that diving these places is too difficult; what if you bump into something, what if you lose your buddy, what if you get disorientated?

The goal of the PADI Limited Visibility Diver Specialty course is to show divers they can enjoy diving in limited visibility, while learning skills like the use of buddylines and navigating like a pro.

After a theory session and a thorough briefing you will do 2 dives at the divesites of Langkawi. During both these dives you will learn practical skills for diving and navigating in limited visibility. After completion you will receive a PADI certification.

Duration: 1 day (2 dives)

Your health:

Medical questionair: Diving is a very safe and relaxing sport but can at times be physically demanding and you need to be in good health. Before each course you will have to fill in this medical form.

If you can answer all questions with NO(including the question about Covid19), then you can start your course right away. If you have to answer YES, then get the form signed by a physician to make sure it is safe for you to go diving.

Glasses: Do you wear glasses? You will not be able to keep them on during diving so it is recommended you wear contact lenses during the program.

Flying: For health-reasons, do not plan your dive on the day that you are flying. The current recommendation is to wait 18hours after diving.
