WE ARE CLOSED

It is west-monsoon Langkawi, the sea is rough, it rains often and the water is very brown. It is not safe or fun to go diving and we are closed for 4 months. We will be ready to take you diving again in October.

A company with knowledge of the local divesites and water-conditions since 2014.

Environment

Not just talk, but action taken to preserve the environment and not only during diving.

Safety

No compromises: max 2 divers per instructor & dive-brievings and dive-plans adjusted for the local conditions.

Professionalism

The "diveguides" are certified PADI dive-instructors with lots of experience and passion for teaching.

Our Location

Langkawi Scuba is located in the center of Cenang Beach, at Melati Tanjong Beachresort. Easy to reach from anywhere in Cenang on foot, or anywhere else on the island by taxi, Grab or rental car. Hotel recommendations here.

Our trips will start directly from Cenang beach. Location Map and Contact details here.

The Langkawi Divesites

A short, boat ride takes you from our divecenter on Cenang beach to the beautiful 99 small islands of Langkawi. (not Payar)

Our divesites: The Stables, Tanjung Intan, Razorreef, Cepu, Beras Laut, White Coral Corner. Read more about these sites...

Langkawi has great places to see beautiful colorful soft-corals, anemones with clownfish, lionfish, razorfish and frogfish. A school of barracudas is hanging out and we have spotted colorful nudibranches, whipcoralshrimps, pipefish and seahorses. See photos

These divesites are only 10-20min away from Cenang and Langkawi Scuba is the divecenter that found these sites in 2014. Read more about how we discovered these sites..

The Visibility

Let’s face it, Langkawi is not known for crystal clear water. Visibility is usually only 2-4m, but we love diving here! Because the soft-corals and fish are very colorful there is plenty to see. And there are days that we are lucky and do get 5m+ visibility.

Because we would like to be able to show you all the amazing creatures, we dive with only 2 divers per PADI instructor, so in stead of worrying about losing your buddy, just worry about enjoying yourself.

(Check out our PADI Limited Visibility Diver Specialty Course to learn more about this kind of diving)

The Dive Trip

After checking your equipment and the dive-brieving at our beach shop at 9am, we leave on our boat for our first dive of the day. If your air-consumption allows, we can stay 1 hour under water. The surface interval can be on one of the beautiful beaches of the islands of Langkawi, we will bring coffee/tea and some local snacks. After our second dive we get back to Cenang around 1:30pm. In high-season, when the weather is good, there will be an optional 3rd dive in the afternoon.

Personal

Fundiving or learning to dive with only 2 divers per instructor, is the norm with us. A relaxed boatride with maximum 6 customers is how we design our trips.

Safety

With limited visibility in Langkawi we don't want you to be worried about losing your buddy. And because we would like to be able to show you all the amazing creatures, we  dive with only 2 divers per PADI instructor, give comprehensive safetybriefings and we use buddy-lines.

Emergency oxygen and a first aid kit are always on our boat. And of course we will bring spare equipment, just in case.

Covid-19:

At the moment the government allows only fully vaccinated people to participate in diving activities. Our staff is fully vaccinated.

In line with government SOP and PADI recommendations, we follow safety-procedures like physical distancing where possible and sanitation of equipment after each use.

If applicable, please inform yourself of the risk of diving after Covid19 and have your physician clear you for scuba diving before your dive-trip. Download medical statement here.

Environment

You take care of that you love, and we love Langkawi beaches and the reefs around them. So, we reduce and re-use, do beachclean-ups and splash for trash dives, and we  will watch your hands and fins while diving so that the coral doesn't get damaged. Read more about our efforts here.

Our Season

From October till May the water around Langkawi is flat, this is the diveseason. From June to September the monsoon sometimes makes the waves too big for us to go diving, the water will be brown and we will not be able to take the boat out, and we will be closed.

Prices season 2021-2022

To get this PADI certification, you will need to complete 5 adventure dives (in 2 or 3 days). You will receive a digital manual before starting your course and are expected to read from a manual and answer knowledge reviews before the course.

With visibility and depth being limited in Langkawi, it is a challenge to complete this course but definitely interesting.

Deep dive, For this dive it is recommended that you dive deeper than 22m, we can’t get to that depth at our reefs. To solve this, we dive away from the islands, in the “blue”. There is hardly any marinelife there, so during this dive we focus on our skills and play some games.

Navigation dive, with limited visibility here in Langkawi, it is even more important to learn to navigate and we will teach you little tricks we use when guiding our dives.

Limited Visibility Dive, learn more about safety and techniques of the type of diving around Langkawi.

Buoyancy dive, with limited visibility you will need to be very close to the corals, and your buoyancy skills will be very important. We practice this with some fun challenges.

PADI Specialty Course:

Limited Visibility Diver

Diving in clear water is great, seeing as far as 30-40m, looking at the big pelagic animals swimming by. But did you know that there are places with incredible marine life (like Langkawi!) that do not have that amazing visibility?

There are incredible creatures and beautiful reefs living in waters where you can see just a few meters in front of you. You might think that diving these places is too difficult; what if you bump into something, what if you lose your buddy, what if you get disorientated?

The goal of the Limited Visibility Diver Specialty course is to show divers they can enjoy diving in limited visibility, while learning skills like the use of buddylines and navigating like a pro.

After a theory session and a thorough briefing you will do 2 dives at the divesites of Langkawi. During both these dives you will learn practical skills for diving in limited visibility. After completion you will receive a PADI certification.

Duration: 1 day (2 dives)

For who: any certified diver

Included:  Course materials, PADI certification fee, equipment rental, coffee/tea and snacks in the surface interval.

Price:

RM 490 ( 1 diver)
